COURSE OVERVIEW
In Canada, obtaining an advanced drone pilot certificate requires:
- Passing Transport Canada’s advanced exam
- Completing an advanced flight review, a practical test that evaluates your ability to safely plan and execute a drone flight
Once the advanced exam is passed, many candidates wonder how to effectively prepare for the advanced flight review.
The “Advanced Flight Review Preparation” course:
- Clearly explains what will be assessed during the advanced flight review
- Shows you how to prepare effectively
- Teaches you how to plan and carry out drone flights safely and legally, useful for both the exam and your day-to-day operations
The course is included free of charge when you purchase an advanced flight review at Drone Académie.
What you’ll learn in the course:
Section 1 – Flight Planning
- All required checks, documentation, and authorizations for an advanced drone flight
- Video demonstration of flight planning in an advanced operations context
- Ready-to-use flight plan template to save time
Section 2 – Flight Site Operations
- Steps to follow before, during, and after your drone flight
- List of piloting maneuvers to practice for the hands-on portion of the flight review
Note: If you’ve never flown a drone, it is strongly recommended to gain some piloting experience before attempting the L1CO flight review. You can practice on your own or enroll in our Advanced Practical Training for one-on-one guidance with an instructor
