After completing the prerequisites, you must pass the Level 1 Complex Operations (L1CO) flight review to earn your L1CO drone pilot certificate. This practical exam evaluates your ability to plan and execute a drone flight in an Advanced and Level 1 Complex operations context.

Prerequisites
Before attempting the L1CO flight review, the candidate must have:
- Completed at least 20 hours of theoretical ground instruction.
- Passed the Transport Canada advanced exam.
- Passed the Transport Canada Level 1 Complex exam.
- A registered drone with a take-off weight of at least 250g.
If you don’t have a drone, we can rent one for the duration of the course for an additional fee of $100+tx. The rental option is available at certain locations, so please let us know in advance if you’d like to rent a drone.
To book
- From the drop-down menu, choose the location, date and time of the L1CO flight review;
- Enter your details and pay for your reservation;
- Once payment has been received, you will immediately receive two e-mails: one containing the invoice, and another containing the information you need to prepare for your flight (instructions, location address, evaluator’s contact details, promo code to order the free “Flight Review Preparation” online course, etc.). If you haven’t received one of these two e-mails, it’s very likely that it has slipped into your spam folder. If not, contact us and we’ll send you the e-mail(s).
Cancellation policy
- If you cancel your lesson more than 24 hours in advance and require a refund, a 3% fee will be charged to your refund.
- If you cancel your class less than 24 hours in advance and require a refund, a fee of $85+tx will be charged to your refund.
- For any absence, if you do not contact your instructor at least 2 hours in advance, a fee of $100+tx will be charged.
