COURSE OVERVIEW
In Canada, to obtain a Level 1 Complex Operations (L1CO) drone pilot certificate, you must:
- Complete a 20-hour theoretical training
- Pass Transport Canada’s Advanced and Level 1 Complex exams
- Successfully complete an L1CO flight review, a practical exam that evaluates your ability to plan and carry out a drone flight in advanced and Level 1 complex operations
Once the previous steps are completed, many candidates wonder how to effectively prepare for the L1CO flight review.
This why we created the online course “L1CO Flight Review Preparation”, included free of charge when you purchase an L1CO flight review at Drone Académie. This course teaches you how to plan and safely carry out both advanced and Level 1 complex operations, fully compliant with regulations. The knowledge you gain will be useful for the flight review and for your daily drone operations.
What you’ll learn in the course:
Section 1 – Flight Planning
- All required checks, documentation, and authorizations
- Video demonstration of flight planning for Advanced and Level 1 Complex Operations
- Ready-to-use flight plan template to save time
Section 2 – Practical Evaluation
- Steps to follow before, during, and after your drone flight
- List of piloting maneuvers to practice for the hands-on portion of the flight review
Note: If you’ve never flown a drone, it is strongly recommended to gain some piloting experience before attempting the L1CO flight review. You can practice on your own or enroll in our L1CO Practical Training for one-on-one guidance with an instructor.
