COURSE OVERVIEW

In Canada, to obtain an advanced drone pilot certificate, you must first pass Transport Canada’s small advanced exam. Once you’ve passed this test, you’ll need to pass a flight review. The flight review is a practical test that assesses a candidate’s ability to plan and complete a drone flight.

Once they’ve reached the flight review stage, many candidates wonder how they can best prepare for the assessment. That’s why we’ve created the online course “Flight review preparation”, which aims to clearly explain what will be assessed during the test, and how to prepare for it. At Drone Académie, this course is included free of charge with the purchase of a flight review. In this course, you’ll learn how to plan and complete a drone flight safely and legally. These concepts will help you prepare for your flight review as well as your day-to-day operations.

The first section of the course will review all the checks to be carried out, the documentation to be produced and the authorizations to be obtained so that you can plan a drone flight properly. This section includes a video demonstration of how to plan a drone flight for advanced operations.

The second section of the course will review everything you need to do once you arrive at the drone flight site, before, during and after the drone flight. This section also includes a list of drone piloting maneuvers to practice, to prepare you for the part where you’ll have to complete flying exercises.

If you’ve never flown a drone before, we strongly recommend that you gain some flying experience before attempting a flight review. You can gain this experience on your own, or you can enroll in our “Flight Review Practice” course to prepare yourself one-on-one with an instructor.
